The MAXD-OUT Team have been working on the 2.3 Ecoboost since 2015, long before the launch of the New Focuc RS Mk3. The developed range of maps that range in power from a simple +40bhp +80nm upgrade to a massive +70bhp and a huge 670nm of torque.
The Mk3 Focus RS is a fantastic car but does lack the real RS feel and needs a little something else to enhance the drivabilty in our opinion.
The MAXD Stage 1 remap will deliver an additional 25-30bhp and 80nm of torque. The drivabilty has massively improved and a genuine lift in the power and torque curves delivers a REAL RS feel.
The MAXD Stage 1R remap will deliver a safe power hike of 40-50 bhp and 80-100nm of torque when run on 99 RON fuel. The drivabilty has massively improved and a genuine lift in the power and torque curves delivers a REAL RS feel.
Is the MAXD-OUT mapping warranty safe?
The MAXD-OUT remapping box can be selected as an option to this product. This unit will save the original Ford ECU tune, this tune can be reinstalled at any time and the vehicle taken back to the main agent for any warranty and service action to be undertaken without issue. The MAXD-OUT tune file can then be reinstalled.
Will it stress the Engine?
The remap is very mild and does not lift the boost to higher levels than stock and does not run huge amounts of ignition advance, its a very conservative level of calibration that lifts power to a perfect level without overstressing any components.
What are the Launch Control Options?
The stock 5000rpm launch control is activated by pressing a button then entering a menu and making a series of selections.
It’s a pretty awkward process and if you were to be caught out at the traffic lights it could be a tad embarrassing.
The MAXD-OUT remap can change the operation of the launch setting, the stock launch operated by the buttons selection will remain at 5000 revs but a default and permanent launch setting that works without having to push the long series of buttons.
In other words the car will always be ready to launch.
Just push the starter button, floor the throttle and the car will respond with the launch limit of 4000, 4500, or 5000 revs which ever you select when installing the remap.
(This also means that you can’t bounce it off the limiter whilst stood still, which we don’t think is a bad thing)

Can we qualify the real world performance increase?
In our testing we ran our Stage 1 demo car at the local drag strip to assess the performance in a real world situation.
We ran the car on the same day with the same driver with all the conditions identical over the 1/4 mile course.
A set of Toyo 888 tyres were fitted and the additional K&N Filter was installed inside the stock Ford airbox.
The Pumaspeed Focus RS Mk3 ran the following times-
Ford Stock mapped time of 13.2 seconds for the quarter mile.
MAXD Stage 1 mapped of 12.7 seconds.
