A Beautifully constructed in carbon fibre weave this item is designed as a direct replacement for the standard air filter assembly.
Tests show that it allows over 3.5% more air flow into a standard engine, plus lower inlet air temperatures. On the road this shows with increased throttle response and improved acceleration.

The new Ford Focus uses the same basic air filter whether the car has the 100PS 1.0 litre or 250PS 2.0 litre ST engine meaning that it’s either vastly over-engineered for the 1.0 litre, or only just good enough for the ST!

The GGR CAIS is designed to fit as a direct replacement for the standard unit, using the original mountings and pipework, but to offer practically no resistance to air-flow into the engine.

Consisting of a moulded outer casing of either Carbon Fibre or plain Polyester weave, the GGR CAIS picks up cold air from the original position at the front of the car. The air is then chanelled through the casing to a large, fully enveloped K&N cone air filter with 360° clearance around it. Inside the filter, and forming the outlet of the CAIS is a spun aluminium bellmouth which collects the incoming air, and channels it out smoothly to the turbo intake pipe.

By offering less restriction to the incoming air it allows the engine to produce power more easily, and the improved air-flow capability will enable the engine to produce more power once additional restrictions such as the engine management system calibration are modified to make use of these benefits.
